Dear Family and Friends,
Construction is picking up speed. Stanley, our builder, has upped our completion time to sometime in November. We told our landlord that Highland Road would be available for rental on December 1st, so now we are committed to being in or being homeless, whichever comes first.
Drywall is done, all the rooms have 1st coats of color, and trim is starting on windows and doors.
The stone fireplaces are being completed this week. It is very gratifying to watch the guys be so careful in their stone selection and placement. The fireplaces are really show-stoppers.
I didn't take lots of paint color pictures for two reasons:
- the colors don't really show up in the pictures. They look very nice- trust me.
- I talked to my life-long friend George Betz this week. He thanked me for doing a blog that had a picture... "every time you hammered a new !!!????%** nail!" Hmmmm, what was George trying to tell me? So, no pictures of colors.
The downstairs floor is done. It is a vinyl product called Appalachian Slate- Teton. We love the way it looks- anything with the name Teton has to be good, yes?
This week- doors downstairs, wood in master bath, wood flooring arrives, gutters start, and the electrician starts to install switches, receptacles, and fixtures. All those plumbing and electrical things that have been living in our rental basement are now on-site and ready to go.
Things really are moving forward. We hope that all is great with you. We look forward to sharing this with you.
Love,
Emmett and Marsha
