Dear Family and Friends,
New phase of construction- new format for the blog.
Stanley has started to work on the interior, and painting and roof shingling has begun. There is a first coat on almost everything (in one week) and the roof is almost half done (in three days). Boy, these professionals don't dally.
The Great Wall is complete. 11 weeks and 2 days. Boy, these amateurs sure drag their feet.
I loaded the excess rock into the Mule (5 loads) and moved it to the head of the driveway- the Island of Lost Stones, as I call it. I will start Tienanmen Square out there on Monday.
It is very gratifying to see the colors look so good together. When the painters say they like it, you know something is going right. Thank you, My Marge, for being the family arbiter of good taste. Remember, if you don't like how it looks, it's the homeowner's fault.
We passed our plumbing inspection. Our last electrical work gets done on Monday, and then electrical, framing, and chimney inspections. Once they pass, it's on to insulation and sheetrock.
Peg, if you look at the front door picture, you can see the block under the light block that is set aside for Laurie Lengyl's Owl Door Knocker. In the back, we have a lovely shot of Cosmo's sassy dog door.
It is very exciting to watch things move more quickly.
Have a great week.
Love,
Emmett and Marsha
