So much has happened since last we "blogged." 3 amazing weeks in Portland, California & Oregon coast, and the Pendleton Roundup. Then, back to Brevard. In our absence, a new dowsing took place because the previous location was too tough / costly to drill. Tony, our grader, cut the entire foundation hole in a day. Then, he cut a path through the woods with two switchbacks so that we can access the property. There is a nice location for Connor's & Markie's treehouse (it is unclear who is more excited about the treehouse). We are within 100' of the Music Center property. We got the new Mule, and it is a great work vehicle. I have seeded and fertilized the entire path, and the embankment between the house and the septic. On Monday, October 1, the dowser returns to do a final locate on the new well site, and then we are ready to drill the well. The surveyor should be formally staking the foundation, because we are ready to dig footings. I am making piles of rocks. It beats the daylights out of teaching.
The Pendleton Roundup pictures are too amazing to describe. Peg and Mark said it best- a rich experience, always a surprise, always wonderful. It was so exciting to see people living a life that we mistakenly think has passed into history.
