It is amazing how fast Tony is going. He runs the track hoe, while Victor uses a chain saw. Not one tree has been "cut down" in a conventional way. The track hoe pushes the tree over and plucks it our of the ground, roots and all. The chain saw trims branches off, and cuts larger trees into 8' sections. If the tree is 4" or less in diameter, the track hoe just snaps it in pieces. Each day sends 12-16 dump trucks of debris off the land. By the end of day 3, the road is cleared, the building site is cleared, and the septic area is cleared. On Day 4, earth will be moved to improve the road. Once that is complete, we are ready to stake the house by surveyor, do the septic system by Gus, and have our dowser locate the well.
